Stanislaus County, CA (August 29, 2025) — BEAM Circular is proud to announce that it has been awarded $10.367 million through the California Jobs First Regional Investment Initiative. This funding will accelerate ready-to-go projects that drive sustainable and equitable economic growth across California. The investment in BEAM Circular will bring needed capital to the North San Joaquin Valley to accelerate and grow the circular bioeconomy, a fast-growing industry sector poised to create quality jobs and strengthen the region’s economy through the manufacturing of bio-based products and clean energy.

Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Jobs First Council announced $80 million in total awards across 18 counties, funding innovative regional projects designed to create quality jobs, strengthen local economies, and advance climate resilience.

“Our mission has always been to unlock the potential of the North San Joaquin Valley by building a thriving circular bioeconomy,” said Karen Warner, CEO of BEAM Circular. “The California Jobs First funding accelerates that mission. It will advance our development of the California Bioeconomy Innovation Campus, accelerate the growth of innovative businesses, allow local farmers to capture more value from what they produce, and ensure that our communities benefit directly from this growing industry.”

The $10.367 million grant will support BEAM’s mission to build a vibrant regional ecosystem for circular bioeconomy innovation in California’s agricultural heartland. Funds will be used to advance:

  • Business Growth: Programs that accelerate bioeconomy ventures and attract new investments to the region.

  • Workforce Development: Creation of strong talent pipelines and career opportunities in the bioeconomy sector.

  • Technology Deployment: Scaling sustainable solutions that reduce organic waste, support resilient agriculture, and advance climate solutions.

A cornerstone initiative funded by this award is the California Bioeconomy Innovation Campus, a shared pilot- and demonstration-scale bioproduction facility designed to:

  • Catalyze regional biomanufacturing growth

  • Enable high-value uses of locally-sourced organic materials

  • Create high-quality, future-ready jobs in one of the Central Valley’s top opportunity sectors

“This funding is a game-changer,” added Warner. “It positions the North San Joaquin Valley as a rising national leader in the circular bioeconomy, and ensures that the benefits of quality job creation, innovation, and sustainability are shared across our communities.”
